Community Service Worker Diploma
The objective of the Community Service Worker (CSW) program is to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to secure employment in a variety of community organizations working with families, individuals and groups. Individuals who possess a keen interest in helping others in need of assistance and support find great reward working in this field. The CSW program involves a great deal of small group work, practice interviews and exercises in self-awareness.
Students will practice with families and individuals, understand the human health model, and explore research methods. Throughout the course of the Community Service Worker Program, students will gain the knowledge and experience to prepare them for work with clients from a range of age groups, with a variety of social and emotional issues.
In addition, the college will coordinate a practicum placement within a healthcare setting to gain practical, related experience. This is an important and exciting part of the learning experience.
